Many players are frustrated by accuracy system, I hope this video explains it well.
Accuracy is an attribute given to a spell that essentially determines it's hit %. What % of the time will an ability hit.
For instance, if we had an ability called "Shock" that has an accuracy rating of 50% then we would expect this ability to hit, on AVERAGE, half of the time. It works exactly like a coin flip in this case. Every time you use the ability, the system dynamically flips a coin, and if it lands on heads so to speak, the ability will hit. If it lands on tails, it will not hit.
What accuracy is NOT is a guarantee. Much like a coin flip. you can often go 3 or 4 times in a row where it lands on heads or tails. Nobody would claim a coin flip is biased, but flipping a coin 1000 times will on average return 500 heads and 500 tails. Flipping it a few times, you may end up with heads 4 times and tails twice, or some other variant.
Each use of the ability is a NEW coin flip, our system does not consider if you've missed or hit prior to that click, so it doesn't attempt to "even up" the score, so to speak.
I hope this helps clarify the accuracy concerns, at least bringing some understanding. We will not be changing the dynamics of accuracy, it brings a proper balance of risk/luck/random fight dynamics that we like and believe brings a solid balance to the game.
Just remember, the same "bad luck" that might bring you a couple misses in a row may bring you a couple hits in a row. This is part of the unpredictability of fights!
- Using a move multiple times is not a guarantee that it will surely hit.
- Complete Confusion acc is 50% which means it has 50% chance to hit.
- Each new move is a completely new algorithm and how many times you used the move before does not gurantee its sucess or failure.
