The Forest, the open-world survival horror title from Endnight Games, is now available in alpha on Steam Early Access. . Taking inspiration from the late 70’s italian cannibal films. The game throws you into a violent dangerous world, and gives you complete freedom in how you try to survive. The Forest takes hunting, crafting and building to the survival horror genre, creating a unique and compelling experience altogether.

As the lone survivor of a passenger jet crash, you find yourself in a mysterious forest battling to stay alive against a society of cannibalistic mutants. Build, explore, survive in this terrifying first person survival horror simulator.

You play as a plane crash survivor in a mysterious forest filled with cannibalistic mutants and other dangers awaiting. As a player you have to do whatever it takes to survive. You must learn to use the environment to your advantage to survive.

Every tree in the game world can be chopped down, and from the wood players can create different structures. You can collect water and boil it, or risk drinking it straight from a water source. Food works in a similar way, if you manage to catch a rabbit the next step is to build a fire and cook the meat. Leave the dead rabbit sitting in the sun too long and it will start to rot, attract flies and make you ill if you try and eat it.

Daytime gameplay consists of exploration and building traps and other defenses; nighttime is when the mutants can attack, so it's up to the player to hunker down or go on the offensive. But if you go down into the caves and start butchering them while they sleep, they’re going to get mad, and they’re going to come for you regardless of the time of day.

So far the game is only available in single player mode only. There is not hint so far about The Forest Multiplayer Mode.
